A view from both sides

How experience translates into understanding

“I am in a unique position as I have experienced first-hand what it is like to be on both sides of the fence. I was looked after when I was younger and spent time living in residential houses. Now I work with children and young people who are looked after and I can relate to what the young people are going through, as well as having a better understanding of why they might behave the way they do.

“I have also learnt that professionals are trying to help you. It isn’t that they are not listening, it sometimes just takes time for them to sort out things for you.”

We'd like to hear from you

This journey is only beginning and we would like you to be part of it.

To build  the best community, we need to share our experiences. Everybody should have a say and everyone will be listened to.

Whether you have a story you feel would help someone else in the care-experience community, if you have a view on how Caring in Fife could improve, or if you'd like to be directly involved we want to hear from you.

This community will be better by including you.
